Bob Brody has lived in White Plains with his wife Shoshana and daughter Ariana since 2001. Bob served in many capacities at the Young Israel most notably as Treasurer from 2005-2011 and Gabbai. Bob was very helpful in improving the quality of the records, hiring the shul’s first bookkeeper and improving the collection process without alienating the members. As Gabbai, Bob may have alienated a few, but it was all for a good cause, decorum and quiet during davening.
Bob grew up in Long Island. He attended HANC and received his B.A. in Accounting at Queens College. Bob became a CPA in 1993 and has worked for over a quarter of a century serving the not-for-profit world. Bob currently is the Director of Finance at Rye Country Day School at which he has been employed since 2000.
On a personal note, Bob would like to thank the entire YI community for the outpouring of love, care and concern during his recent illness. The meals, visits, emails were so uplifting and a major component of staying positive and getting better. As Bob said “this is what community and shul are for. We are one family and take care of each other.”
