Meet our Youth Directors Zalmy and Musia
All ABout US
Hi! We are so excited to be joining YIWP as Youth Directors this year! We feel so lucky to be moving into this warm and welcoming community. We are looking forward to meeting each one of you, and thought we’d share a little bit about ourselves until then.
We are a Chabad couple and were married a year and a half ago, just a few days before Covid hit! We were fortunate enough to celebrate one of the last ‘normal’ weddings. We spent our first year plus in Crown Heights, Brooklyn, near Musia’s family. We stayed there until our baby boy, Dov, was born about a month ago, and we just moved to White Plains this week!
Zalmy grew up in LA, and lived there until we were married. He spent several summers working in and running Camp YOA (Yeshiva Outdoor Adventure). After completing his Yeshiva education, Zalmy spent a year and half as a soldier in the Israeli army. He is especially fond of his experience there! He is now working in management and sourcing for a Brooklyn-based Amazon vendor, and is very much looking forward to this new and exciting part of our year.
Musia grew up right around the corner in Purchase! Her family runs Chabad in the area, and after spending the last few years in Brooklyn, it’s been her dream to move back to this side of town. Musia loves working with kids, and is currently teaching at her mother’s Alef Bet Preschool in New Rochelle. Musia also ran Chabad’s Hebrew School for four years, and has spent many summers working for various Gan Izzy camps. Musia is a certified health coach, and loves hands on creative projects.
We both feel so privileged to be joining the Shul in this capacity, and can’t wait for wonderful times ahead together with you, Gd willing!
